I recently took the camera to London’s 02 Centre to shoot the stars at Empire Big Screen, and event which served up plenty of treats for fans of blockbuster cinema.
I was working freelance for BBC Customer Publishing/Cineworld Magazine over two days of Big Screen, taking photographs of venues, events, talks, and, of course, big movie stars.
Jason Mamoa arrives at London's O2 centre Cineworld for a preview screening of the updated Conan the Barbarian. Female movie fans around me were impressed, describing the Hawiian model and actor as 'Johnny Depp that's been to the gym a lot'.
Working alongside a journalist, who interviewed top movie names like MyAnna Buring and Aardman Animations, photgraphs were taken both for use in the magazine and to regularly update the multiplex chain’s Twitter and Facebook feeds, kleeping movie fans up to date with the latest tidbits of insider gossip. We also shot a little video using the HD capabilities of the Canon 5d MKII.
MyAnna Buring, a Swedish actress that came to prominance after a role in cult horror hit The Descent, will take a starring role in the next Twilight film. An engaging personality, she gave a great interview.
As a keen movie fan, it was a fantastic environmetn in which to work and most of the stars we encountered were down to earth professionals keen to talk about their work.
